I'm back doing promotional work, but no money coming in yet! Rena has taken a job, but not getting enough hours per week, falling behind on everything lately! No improvement with my wounds, basically no change thus far from the photo's you see in my slideshows, still the same today! I have good days and bad days, etc. I'm still singing away on SingSnap to pass the time and keep in contact with everybody, Rena mostly does our comments, but they are coming from both of us! I appreciate your continued Friendship and Support, thank God, I'm still alive and there is hope for my condition. Nothing the Doctor has done with medicine has helped my condition, now trying Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic? I've tried just about everything to kill off the flesh eating bacteria... Rena has been very depressed, needs cheering up these days!
Please send her a PM on SingSnap or leave her a comment, she's had to put up with a lot these past months, since I've been ill... She is my strength... She has been carring a heavy load, I can't thank her enough for all of her love and patience with me and my situation!!!

They really scare me, this past simmer I came in from the back yard and had this big I mean big spider in my hair after I killed it I looked it up it was a brown recluse I about died right there I am scared of spiders but those just scare me to death I thank God everyday that it didn't bite me ....
Years ago when i was a kid in Calif. before they even really new anything about these spiders a friend of mine was bit, and I have never seen anything like it ...

Being in Ontario Canada, I didn't think it would be a Brown Recluse. I felt a hot sting or bite and never worried about it. That was a Thursday. Friday morning I called my Dr. urgently because the sore was the size of a dime and my heel was throbbing. Dr. Krupa took a swab of it, because it was was oozing pus. We covered it and used an antibiotic creme and he told me to soak it in very warm water with salt.
Well through the weekend my whole foot was sore, aching up to my midcalf. By Monday morning it had grown and was the size of about 2 1/2 inch circle, open....I couldn't walk on it and was hopping. Almost first thing after the Dr.s office opened, Dr. Krupa called me himself and told me I had to go to the Emergency to get IV antibiotics and treatment immediately. He also told me to make sure I told the nurses there that I had Strept Group "A".
I recieved weeks/months of Outpatient Treatments. Used crutches for the longest time, and still to this day, I have a scar that is about the size of a tennis ball......deep almost to the bone. LUCKY that it didn't go right to the bone......and I am so grateful that I did go to the dr with what I thought at first to just be a nagging sore.
We were unsure of what kind of spider, could have been a black spider, a brown house spider, or a brown recluse. There have been known brown recluse spiders in Thunder Bay.....and just some nasty new ones.

WHEW long story.......sorry. But I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that you are going through all this.......like 3 times what I had........gosh David, how painful it must be.

How are you doing now? I'd like to say that I am SO glad you are a part of this site.........I've been to your pages several times, here and SS, just know I'm thinking about you.......really wishing you all the best.

Btw, As I've mentioned, I keep a personal remedy kit handy for spider bites, (also works for snake bites). I have on hand charcoal tabs and caps to take 3xper day, charcoal gel that's made for a topic solution with psyllium seed crushed and mixed with h2o and bandage wraps with surgical tape just in case I roll over on another spider, lol..lol..AND with that I'm hoping you're doing well David with very little itching, pain, and burning. Love you guys! May Jesus be ever present at your side during your struggle with the matters at hand. It's great seeing you at this site and thanx again for your comments.

The road to recovery is long and slow, it will take time for them to heal, but one day you will look down and realize that you no longer hurt and will see almost no sign of the damage that was done. It will be like that with Barbara. One day the pain of losing her will fade and the hurt will be gone, all that will be left will be good memories. The bad ones will be hard to recall. I know, I have been there several times in my life. I can only say, "Live for today. Love and cherish what is yours because you never know when or how fast what you have can be taken away from you. Wishing a speedy recovery for you, my friend.

She had breast cancer and is a survivor from it. She also had open heart surgery. Her open heart was 3 yrs. ago. She had her Aorta that was enlarged and had that fixed at the age of 76. A year later she found out she had breast cancer. She had the tumor removed and radiation done. She did not have to have the whole breast removed. She is now 78yrs. old. Has RLS (restless leg syndrome) among other things. She is a wonderful women and I will be hit very hard when she passes. My father passed 10 yrs. ago from Cardiovascular disease. So I do know the pain of losing loved ones. I also helped David with the hard times he was having with his wife Barbara when she was so sick and dying. David and I dated in 1981 to 1983 and went our seperate ways after that. I did know his wife Barbara and she was a wonderful lady. I was there to see their first born Benjamin and had remained friends all these years. He would call just to talk and he knew I would be there for him. He was at the hospital for 2 days while I was with my mother when she had open heart. We support each other on everything. David was married for 21 yrs. and was very much in love with Barbara and it hit him and the children very hard. They all still have a hard time with it and probably will for life. All I would like to say is stick together, unite with each other, talk about it, pray for each other and be as close as you can in supporting. It does help. The memories will always be with you and so will the hurt....God Bless you all and know I am here if you need me as well...

Unfortunately my Wife, Barbara Lee Cohen (Starr) Lost her battle with Melanoma (Skin) Cancer on July 27, 2005. R.I.P.

I am ill with three (3) Brown Recluse Spider Bites. I got bit on July 27, 2008, would you believe on my Wife's 3rd year Anniversary of her passing (To The Day!)...

Hi Everybody,

Unfortunately, there is still no change really since my last update, I'm still in pain, wake up sick to my stomach every morning, both big toes are still cracking and bleeding, skin is still falling off and there is still infection... I am still pretty weak, no energy and get winded easy.

I thank you all very much for your friendship and support, most appreciated.
